SMTP Authentication Instructions
As part of our ongoing effort to combat
e-mail SPAM, CresComm InterNET Services
has phased out POP-before-SMTP Authentication in favor of SMTP
Authentication due to its superior ability to track e-mails sent through our
mail server and, in turn, filter out SPAM.
Therefore, you must ensure that the e-mail
client (program) you are using is properly configured to use SMTP
Authentication.
Enabling SMTP Authentication is extremely fast and straightforward.
To assist with this process, CresComm.Net is providing step-by-step,
easy-to-follow visual instructions for most major mail programs including
Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, OSX Mail
and Novell Evolution. Please click on the appropriate link below for the
e-mail program you use and follow the step-by-step instructions.
These links will be added soon. In the meantime you may contact our
Technical Support Department
If the e-mail program that you use is not listed, please consult your
e-mail program's 'Help' documentation for instructions to enable SMTP
Authentication. Should you require further assistance, feel free to contact
CresComm InterNET Service's 24/7 technical support department at
1-800-562-8064, and we will be happy to assist you. Be sure to have your username and password ready when
asked.
NOTE: CresComm InterNET
Services is providing this information as a
courtesy to our clients as well as to other web hosts making this transition
in an industry-wide effort to deal with unwanted electronic communications.
